250,000 Twitter Accounts #Hacked
Did you receive a message from the Twitter Team last night? If so, you may be among the 250,000 users that were recently targeted by hackers. The popular social media site wrote on its blog Friday afternoon, that they believe some unidentified attackers had gained access to users’ e-mail addresses, passwords and data. The site has some 200 million active users. “As a precautionary security measure, we have reset passwords and revoked session tokens for these accounts,” wrote Twitter’s director of information security. The post, titled Keeping our users secure, also delved into precautionary measures tweeters should maintain on the platform and elsewhere on the internet. The cyber attack comes days after both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal reported their websites had been breached as well.
