In 1963, Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. led the march on Washington and spoke of a nation living out its true creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” Today, nearly 50 years later, Americans will watch Barack Obama begin his second term as America’s first African American president.
Most people use the third Monday of January as an excuse to party and have a lazy day. Truth is, we don’t take enough time to reflect on how far we’ve come. Before you go to that party with the offensive MLK flyer, try some more options.
