Despite staying relatively quiet the past couple of years when it comes to hip-hop and music, 50 Cent had a big night at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards. His name came up twice in headlines from what is surely becoming one of the most infamous nights in BET award show history. PHOTOS: 2012 Hip Hop Awards Red Carpet At Saturday (Sept. 29) night’s taping in Atlanta, 50 Cent took to the Hip Hop Awards stage with Fat Joe, squashing a longtime brewing beef with the Terror Squad rapper. Handhakes ensued and the human race came one step closer to peace on earth, but then two fights broke out. While 50 Cent didn’t throw any punches, his name came up when members believed to be from his G-Unit entourage jumped MMG member Gunplay in a parking lot behind the award show venue. TMZ caught up with 50 Cent upon his touch down in NYC following the ceremony, and the rapper got cheeky with the paparazzi. When asked about the altercations, a calm 50 Cent brushed off the question replying, “They gave out awards.” 50 Cent’s Twitter page has also been relatively quiet. Apart from tweeting that he was “back in action” and ready to party a little after the awards show taping, 50 brushed off the events like nothing happened. “Good morning I’m up thanking God for another day …” he tweeted this morning.
