50 Cent continues to get rich without even trying. The Queens rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, has teamed with NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony to release a new line of headphones as part of his SMS Audio line.
Last month, the two titans announced the partnership after Anthony joined Fitty's SMS team as an investor/ partner and advisor.
“50 Cent approaches SMS Audio the same way I do each of my games – with focus and passion,” Melo said in a release. “SMS Audio produces and markets high caliber products, delivering a sound unlike anything I have heard – I look forward to representing such an innovative global brand.”
The former G-Unit general/ business mogul appeared at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to debut the the new sports headgear, which deliver studio quality sound and are water-proof, sweat-proof, and Bluetooth compatible. The headphones come in both in-ear and on-ear versions, retailing at $160 to $300, and will also come in an exclusive "Star Wars" line.
“I want SMS Audio to be what Lucasfilm is to film. They've always been aware of the technology and effects that make the actual brand and the series that the public will continue to have interest in," he told Fox Business about the new product. "For a brand that made billions of dollars to assess what SMS Audio's creating and where we're at, and to say that we're actually want us to be a part of the license is to see where we're headed."
