50 Cent Reacts To Chris Lighty's Death

50 Cent Reacts To Chris Lighty's Death

VIBE Music Posted August 31, 2012

The G-Unit General may be lashing out at a few folks, but it comes from an emotional place. Details after the jump!

50 Cent was a star client to the late Chris Lighty; he helped Fif build a successful, multifaceted career in music and entertainment. The Queens, New York rapper released a statement through his publicist and gave nothing but best wishes and adulation to the Lighty family.

"Chris has been an important part of my business and personal growth for a decade," 50 Cent said in the statement issued to Billboard. "He was a good friend and advisor who helped me develop as an artist and businessman. My prayers are with his family. He will be greatly missed."

The unexpected death of the Violator CEO has hit the Hip-Hop community hard, and numerous members of its ranks are expressing their condolences. 50's "little brother," Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, who was also managed by the late businessman, took to Twitter yesterday to offer his thoughts, tweeting, "R.I.P. my manager Chris Lighty, I know you're in a better place. This s--t got me so f---ed up big bro we just talked on the phone 2 days ago."

Reports claim that Lighty's death has been ruled a suicide and may stem from an argument with his wife. Our condolences go out to everyone affected by this loss.
