#6. The Matchup: Los Angeles Lakers forward James Worthy versus Boston Celtics center Greg Kite

The Date: June 9, 1987

The Fight: After a hard foul during Game 4 of the 1987 NBA Finals knocked Worthy to the ground, the Lakers forward got up and threw several punches at Kite.

The Aftermath: NBA Director of Operations Rod Thorn said Worthy “overreacted” and fined him $2,000.

 


 

#5. The Matchup: San Antonio Spurs forward Robert Horry versus Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash

The Date: May 14, 2007

The Fight: During Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, Horry hip-checked Nash as he crossed midcourt and sent him flying into the scorer’s table.

The Aftermath: Horry was ejected and suspended for Game 5 and Game 6 of the series. However, the Suns ended up being the real losers as Suns players Amar’e Stoudemire and Boris Diaw, who were on the bench at the time, were both suspended for Game 5 as well for leaving the vicinity of the bench.
