After weeks of speculations it was reported that Lifetime will be producing a biopic based on Christopher Farley’s book, Aaliyah: More Than a Woman. However, Aaliyah’s family isn’t on board for the release. Tentatively titled Aaliyah: Princess of R&B the network cast Zendaya Coleman as the late singer and is beginning production without the consent of her family.
However, enough is enough, her family is speaking out against the network. Her cousin and president of her label Blackground Records, Jomo Hankerson, released a statement through the family’s PR team denying any involvement with the project.
