Avengers fans assemble! A naked picture of Black Widow after the jump!
We keed, we keed! But what we do have is some awesome, insane-crazy news for Marvel stans out there.
ABC has given the A-OK to begin work on a project centering on everybody's favorite peacekeeping organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. The bombshell news made its way across the blogosphere, yet that is not the only bit of news to give us a joy boner.
The official word from on high is that The Avengers director Joss Whedon is signed on to executive produce and pen the project, along with his brother Jed Whedon and his wife, Maurissa Tanchareon (co-writer of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog). No word on whether the brainchild behind cult favorites Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly will direct any episodes.
Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger announced the company's plan to expand The Avengers universe to the small screen, but with the major characters all with missions of their own to fight—who will star?
One thing's for sure, we're hoping that Agent Coulson's history gets explained more when the show airs it first episode in 2013. Who would you like to see fight alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes?
