With Ben Foster saddling up as Lance Armstrong, the untitled Lance Armstrong biopic adds Dustin Hoffman to the cast.
Hoffman will join the group when production relocates to the U.S. for the final stages of the shoot, according to sources with intimate knowledge. No word was given as to what role he would play.
The untitled biopic marks the second collaboration between Hoffman and director Stephen Frears after 1992's The Accidental Hero.
The Hobbit's Lee Pace also recently joined the cast. The plot finds Ben Foster portraying the embattled cyclist, Lance Armstrong; Chris O'Dowd plays the journalist who uncovers the doping scandal, and Guillaume Canet and Jesse Plemons.
The film is currently shooting on location in Europe.
Studiocanal is fully financing the pic, which will distribute in its territories (France, U.K., Germany, Australia/New Zealand), and is handling international sales.
