It seems as if Relativity Media is choosing to go with Bard the Bowman over Bradley Cooper in The Crow reboot.
The Welsh actor, who is next set to appear in The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug and Fast & Furious 6, was Relativity Media's first choice to play the starring role in the upcoming remake. According to Deadline, filming has been rescheduled for early 2014 to accommodate the actor and his schedule.
Previously, the rumor mill swirled with word that Bradley Cooper was going to play the murdered rock star who is brought back to life by a supernatural bird, but the project was stalled by a legal dispute and Cooper later dropped out. After that, Avengers actor Tom Hiddleston joined talks to star in the cult horror movie remake. The British actor and villain allegedly had dinner with producers and sent them a makeup test that he did on his own in London.
For those unfamiliar with 1994 original, the picture starred Brandon Lee (the late Bruce Lee's son) as Eric Draven, a man resurrected by "the crow" so that he can avenge his own murder and that of his fiancée. The film was based on an acclaimed 1989 comic book of the same name. While Lee followed his father with a tragic death during an accidental shooting on the film's set, The Crow went on to become a super smash hit at the box office and spawned three sequels without him, the most recent coming in 2005.
F. Javier Gutierrez will be directing the franchise reboot for Relativity Media. Do you think Evans is the ideal fit for the role originated by Brandon Lee?
