The Heat star has kept her sweetheart reputation strong for much of her career, but now it seems the Academy award winning actress wants to shake things up.
After signing up to join Steve Carrell's minions in a spinoff movie, Sandra Bullock is keeping her force on the dark side with a role as the diabolical Miss Hannigan, in the upcoming remake of Annie. The Will Gluck-directed picture, which also stars Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx, finds the former Speed starlet in early talks for the part.
Currently, Jane Lynch is playing that role in the Broadway musical production of the popular musical. While this isn't Sandra Bullock's first time going for the role, Annie has been rebooted to draw in mostly an African-American audience. Will the addition of Bullock make this production a top-notch film? Or should the role of Miss Hannigan go to an equally fierce and fearsome Black actress?
Bullock and Foxx have both won Oscars in the past, while Wallis was nominated last year for her role in Beasts of the Southern Wild. The high critical praise the three would bring to the Annie reboot is buoyed by Emma Thompson and Aline Brosh McKenna's script.
Annie will begin shooting this fall for a Christmas 2014 premiere.
