After spending nine weeks on top of the Billboard 200 and selling over six million copies all over the world,
songstress Adele has already started working on the follow-up to her very successful sophomore effort, 21.
In an interview with The Sun, Adele reveals that she plans on releasing her third album in May 2012.
“I have five tracks ready to go. One of them is quite upbeat – a real 'girl power' type of song,” she reveals. “The whole album will have quite a live feel to it.”
Fans can expect one of the tracks to be a cover of Australian band INXS’ hit “Never Tear Us Apart,” which Adele has said to “probably [be her] fave song of all time.”
Until then, however, the songbird will continue touring throughout the United States for the next month. Afterwards, she will fly back to the UK and resume touring there as well.
