Nearly sixteen ago, Adidas debuted the “Crazy 8″ model as a signature shoe for their premiere basketball player Kobe Bryant. The sneakers retailed under the moniker KB-8 but has since changed since his departure from the brand. Today, Adidas has unveiled a Brooklyn-inspired version of the classic shoe, equipped with details specific to the borough. The “Crazy 8″ Brooklyn edition pays homage to the city’s new basketball team the Nets in several ways. The shoes are adorned in the team’s black and white colorway and there is even a map of the subway lines that surround the Barclays Center on the inside. “Brooklyn” is stitched into the ankle, Nets logos are displayed on the tongue and the heel, while the herringbone pattern on the upper and laces replicates the Barclays Center’s unique court pattern.

The Crazy 8 Brooklyn Edition will be available for $110 on December 6 at Foot Locker, Finish Line and the Nets Team Shop at the Barclays Center.
