NBC's call of the wild has landed adventurer Bear Grylls a reality show deal.
According to the LA Times, Discovery's "Man vs. Wild" host will be taking his treacherous escapades to prime time with a televised competition--tentatively called "Get Out Alive"--that will feature teams of two attempting to survive in the wild.
"To meet Bear is to meet a force of nature," said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming at NBC, in a statement. "He is a magnetic and charismatic talent, whose infectious enthusiasm for adventure inspires people to push themselves beyond their limits. These contestants are in for the ride of their lives!"
The network says details will be released as they become available. His past TV antics have included climbing Mt. Everest and crossing the North Atlantic in an inflatable boat.
