Though not due out until next Tuesday (Sep. 10), Janelle Monae’s sophomore studio album The Electric Lady is being streamed online in the week leading up to its release. The follow-up effort from the singer’s 2010 The ArchAndroid album, Electric Lady, also dubbed Suite IV and V, serves as the fourth and fifth installments in Janelle’s seven-part Metropolis conceptual series.
Described by the singer as yet another “emotion picture,” her upcoming album represents her Kansas City hometown -- in the future. Featuring the singles “Q.U.E.E.N.” featuring Erykah Badu and the Miguel-assisted “Primetime,” The Electric Lady also features collaborations with Solange, Esperanza Spalding and Prince.
