Is Paul Giamatti signing on to play a villain? Will the Green Goblin make its return? Some new plot details for the sequel have been released. We have them for you after the break!
While it has been confirmed that Paul Giamatti will appear in the sequel, there are no details about his role in the action-adventure picture. Meanwhile, life for Peter Parker (played by Andrew Garfield) is pretty busy. The plot synopsis for the picture finds the would-be photographer balancing life taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with his love interest, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone).
"Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away — but that's a promise he just can't keep," reads the plot synopsis. The stakes are that much greater for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new and interesting clues about his past.
Through all the speculation, director Marc Webb has been tweeting pictures from the set in New York, one featuring Oscorp aparatus of some kind (possibly a Doc Ock reference?) and another which seems to show a film camera used. Marc Webb has indicated that at least some of the movie is being shot in film rather than digital, unusual for what will be an visual effects-laden project.
