The charismatic actor, Andrew Garfield, has revealed that he would like his alter ego to be revealed as bi-sexual in the next Spider-Man movie. Are your Spidey senses tingling?

The British actor – who will reprise the lead role in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 next year – debated that his love interest in the next film could be re-imagined as a male character named AJ. “Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking,” Garfield explained to Entertainment Weekly. “So, why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?”

Elaborating that he had discussions with producer Matt Tolmach about the idea, he said, “I was kind of joking, but kind of not joking about MJ. And I was like, ‘What if MJ is a dude?'”

When asked which actor could play his male love interest, Garfield quickly responded, saying, “I’ve been obsessed with Michael B. Jordan since The Wire. He’s so charismatic and talented. It’d be even better – we would have interracial bi-sexuality!”

Immediately, director Marc Webb was asked about Garfield’s idea, and he simply responded with, “Michael B. Jordan, I know.” If the franchises dared to be innovative, and make such a startling change, you can only imagine how crazy and hysterical some segments of the fandom would become.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will web-sling into theaters on May 2, 2014. In addition to Garfield, the film stars Jamie Foxx, Emma Stone, and Dane DeHaan, and will be followed by two more sequels on June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018.
