'The Amazing Spider-Man' Hits Big With #1 Debut

The newest Spidey slung in a big audience this opening weekend! The Amazing Spider-Man hit first place at the box office by scoring $140 million during its first six days in domestic theaters.

As MTV reports, the newest Spider-Man reboot grossed $341.2 million worldwide thus far against an estimated production budget of $230 million. Compared to the last Spiderman franchise—starring Tobey Maguire—2004's Spider-Man 2 earned $180.1 million in its first six days, and Spider-Man 3 did $176.2 million in six days.
