Amy Winehouse’s Dad Not Pleased With Beyoncé’s “Back to Black”
After a snipper Beyoncé and Andre 3K’s Amy Winehouse remix for the upcoming flick The Great Gatsby hit the ‘net, the late singer’s father Mitch Winehouse was not impressed.
Amy’s pops wasn’t particularly pleased when he heard that Beyonce would be covering one of his daughter’s standout hits “Back to Black.”
“I don’t think she brings anything to it,” he told the Daily Mail. “I wasn’t asked for my permission if they could record it.”
He eventually accepted the track’s use. The slowed-down and warped Andre 3000-assisted cover is part of the official soundtrack to the film, which is being co-scored by none other than hubby Jay-Z.
