Amy Winehouse's Father To Release Memoir 'Amy: My Daughter'

Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, will write a memoir in his daughters memory

, titled Amy: My Daughter.  He has promised to discuss her mischievous early years, her rise to fame, life of stardom and untimely death. 

Mitch will be open about her well-known struggles with addiction and substance abuse.

“I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery.” Mitch explained.

All the proceeds from the book will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which is a charity he founded in the wake of her death to help children and young adults battling with addiction. The book will be published in the United Kingdom with Harper Collins publishing and will be released in summer 2012.

Amy was best known for her doo-woop inspired music, infamous beehive hairstyle and the song about her refusing to go to rehab after her record label insisted she do so--"Rehab". She went on to win five Grammy awards including Record of the Year and Album of the Year for that song and her album Back To Black. --Brittny Pierre
