After purposely leaking her debut album Dirty Gold last December and giving the middle finger to her record label, Island/ Republic Records, rapper Angel Haze finds herself struggling with sales.
Billboard reported that her debut sold a measly 1,115 copies its first week, with just 187 sold on the first day. She is said to have sold 857 units in the U.K.
After serving up her LP on Soundcloud before its official release Dec. 30, the MC says she wanted to get her material out there.
“My album has been done for seven months and I have genuinely craved getting it out so that my fans can hear it," she said, noting that she wanted to be “a voice for the voice-less."
Haze is set to invade the UK for a trio of shows in March. She will perform at the Manchester Gorilla on March 7, Birmingham O2 Academy 2 on March 8 and London Heaven on March 11. Tickets go on sale January 17.
