It's happened to Adele, Frank Ocean and now, Ariana Grande. The pop darling, whose recently released debut album Yours Truly shot to the top of the Billboard charts upon release, had to cancel several gigs due to a vocal chord injury, Page Six reports.
“Ariana had a show in LA on Monday night, then on Tuesday she woke up and felt unwell," a source tells Page Six. "She tried to sing with her vocal coach, who recommended she see a doctor. She has a vocal cord hemorrhage."
The insider added, “She is devastated at this news, but she knows she will have to rest.”
Apparently, the 20-year-old songbird has been shrieking with joy (rightfully so) over her major victory. However, the doctor ordered that the "Baby I" singer put her vocals on pause or risk damaging her voice further.
"For those of u asking about my voice I screamed too much at my party totally irresponsible," she wrote to her 9.4 million fans on Twitter, "but it's better now, thanks for the well wishes."
