While reviving MTV’s now-defunct countdown show Total Request Live Wednesday (July 2), pop sweetheart Ariana Grande announced that she will be taking her talents to the MTV Video Music Awards. “I’m so excited to perform ‘Break Free’ at the 2014 VMAs,” Grande said in a statement. “I can’t wait for my loves to see what we’ve been working on.” She is the first to be announced from the line-up for the VMAs, which will kick off from the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday, Aug. 24. The ceremony precedes the release of the 21-year-old’s forthcoming album My Everything, out Aug. 25.
