Production for the long awaited biopic of late rapper Tupac Shakur’s life, set to be written, directed and produced by John Singleton, is picking up speed. With the soundtrack becoming a major focus of the film, Ashanti dished to Complex that she’s going to be working on the score with producer L.T. Hutton.

“I have an amazing opportunity. L.T. Hutton, who actually produced the ‘I Got It’ record and ‘Scars’ and a bunch of other records on my album, he’s one of the CEO’s over at Morgan Creek. And him and I are gonna be doing like a musical score, or a lot of music, for the Tupac Film coming in 2015,” the singer reveals.

The Written Entertainment CEO continued to gush, “So I’m super excited about that, I’ve known about this for like two [or] three years now. He’s very, very excited about it. [It’s] very premature, early in stages—oh, and John Singleton is gonna be directing. So that’s gonna be sick, so I’m really, really excited about that.”

The former First Lady of Murder Inc. is making a comeback after dropping her new album Braveheart, which boasts features from Rick Ross, Jeremih and Beenie Man.

The Tupac biopic is slated to hit theaters in 2015.
