Attention Aspiring Artists: How YOU Can Get Your Own Radio Station

Attention, indie artists: No one is checking MySpace pages for music anymore. Spamming Zshare links on Twitter isn't really the move, either. And hawking CDs out on the street? Yeah, might as well just start looking for a new career now. But we understand that you need a way to get the word out about your music. Fortunately, Slacker Radio is providing a more convenient option than any of those listed above. At this year's South By Southwest in Austin, TX, the online radio service announced that they've teamed up with Hello Music to allow unsigned acts to create personal radio stations on Slacker complete with music, photos and bios—for free. Though Slacker already features about 2.5 million songs from established artists, the partnership will allow unsigned acts to get their music heard in a place that—gasp!—is actually designed to expose people to music.
