Bangladesh Breaks Down How Producers Can Get Paid

Adelle Platon / May 19, 2012

Think you got what it takes to be a Grammy-winning producer? Then make sure you’re familiar with Bangladesh’s methods for making money.

In an interview with Hip Hop Blog, the Cash Money music man dishes out the many ways a producer can make their talent a lucrative one.

“In today’s time, new producers are really giving away beats, they’re not usually selling beats” the hit producer said about up-and-coming hopefuls. “Typically artists work with people that are signed to them or are in pocket with them. The artists will throw the work at them before they even think about you.”

Bangladesh, known for his work with Lil Wayne on “6 Foot, 7 Foot” and “A Milli,” has dealt with his royalty issues in the past but has been in the game long enough to know the run-around. From breaking down terms to explaining when to charge artists for a beat and securing publishing rights, Bangladesh gives you a tell-all on producing in just 10 minutes.
