The NY Islanders hockey team will be screaming "Hello Brookyn!" in a couple of years when they move into their new home arena.
The NY Daily News reports that as of 2015, Nassau Coliseum will no longer house the NHL's Islanders, as they'll be moving to Brooklyn's new Barclays Center.
Islanders owner Charles Wang said in a press conference, “It was our goal from day one to keep the Islanders in the local New York area. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to play in Barclays Center, a first-class arena." He continued by adding, “I am looking forward to a long and successful future in Brooklyn.”
The Islanders inked a 25-year lease to relocate, leaving four decades of history in Long Island behind.
