Beyoncé Partners With United Nations For Global Campaign

Beyoncé Partners With United Nations For Global Campaign

Adelle Platon Posted August 3, 2012

Beyoncé's running the world...again, and for a good cause!

The "Countdown" singer took to her Tumblr last week, posting the message "Leave your footprint on 19 August 2012." Turns out the international songbird is teaming with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations on a global campaign encouraging people to get involved.

According to the Associated Press, Bey and songwriter Diane Warren will donate a video of “I Was Here” that will be filmed in the UN General Assembly Hall in New York in front of a live audience. The video will premiere Aug. 19 on World Humanitarian Day. The UN hopes it will help the campaign reach 1 billion people.

The campaign's website, which launched Thursday, allows people to share their individual acts of good.
