A new biography by author Marc Shapiro has revealed the inspiration behind Adele’s chart topping albums was her relationship with her bi-sexual ex-boyfriend, who left her for her gay friend.
“Four hours after laying their emotional cards on the table, the boy ran off with one of Adele’s gay friends,” says Shapiro according to RadarOnline.
Adele previously discussed the relationship in song entitled, “Daydreamer” off of her 19 album, and released a description about it on her official website.
“Daydreamer is about this boy I was in love with, like proper in love with, he was bi and I couldn’t deal with that,” she said in the description. “All the things I wanted from my boyfriend, he was never going to be, I get really jealous anyway, so I couldn’t fight with girls and boys.”
However Shapiro suggests this will be the first time fans are able to truly understand the situation once the book releases.
“One thing we know… Is that it was a first love gone terribly bad. Adele had professed her love and he did the same, she had known he was bisexual but, in the rush of romance, felt they could make it work.”
Adele: The Biography is scheduled to hit stores on July 17th.
