Renowned choreographer and creative director Laurieann Gibson has always been vocal about her talents and has the resume to back the rhetoric. But is she the vital root behind the success of pop heroine Lady Gaga? Ask her and the answer is yes. In an interview with UPTOWN mag, the visionary talked about her hand in Gaga's success and how her gift intimidated Diddy's camp during her work with Danity Kane. Peep a few excerpts:
ON SHAPING GAGA'S SUCCESS:
"I helped her shape her opinion as an entertainer, superstar and an icon. I helped build the brand from scratch...[When we first met] I did not see anything in her. I just loved the music. There were some records that spoke to my creativity. Then I began to develop it as if I was interpreting the music. Because she is so fearless she began to mimic the idea of what I was pulling out of her and we both realized that there was a true connection between our processes."
ON SPLITTING FROM DIDDY:
"At the time, a lot of people around him were intimidated by my gift and my starship and by what people were responding to on the show. I was receiving attention and the people around him were intimidated. He might have had a bad reaction and behaved a certain way. And that was unacceptable to me...It took Puff and I years to become best friends. He is my brother."
