Aaron McGruder's animated series, previously expected to cease after three seasons, is set to resume on Adult Swim, the Cartoon Network site has revealed.
Adult Swim posted the above image to it's website yesterday, reigniting the satirical show's legions of fans. Details, such as whether the full cast will return, have not yet been confirmed.
Anticipation for the comic-turned-cartoon's return was recently sparked in March, when Regina King—voicer of main characters Huey and Riley—announced that McGruder is working to bring another season to the TV.
"I talked to Aaron [McGruder, the series creator] and it looks like they're working things out. I'm trying to be positive," the actress told Sway on Shade 45. "Because you know you say one thing, and the next thing you know it just all fell apart.... But it looks strong like we're coming back."
Now that a fourth season has been confirmed, The Boondocks will join Odd Future's sketch comedy show Loiter Squad on Adult Swim. —John Kennedy
