Funnyman Brandon T. Jackson is taking his talents to the small screen, but in a big way. We have the details for you after the jump.
The stand-up comedian, best known for his breakout roles in "Tropic Thunder" and "Percy Jackson & The Olympians," has been tapped to play the son of Eddie Murphy's infamous Axel Foley in CBS' small-screen reboot of the beloved "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Beverly Hills Cop" will center on Jackson's character, Aaron, Axel's blue-collar Detroit police officer son, and his fish-out-of-water efforts to take down criminals in the ritzy California locale while living in his father's shadow.
Word is confirmed that Murphy will reprise his role of Axel Foley in the pilot, and could potentially recur if the project goes to series. Murphy will also serve as an executive producer on the series, along with "The Shield" and "Last Resort" creator Shawn Ryan.
No word as to when the show is slated to air the pilot, but we will keep you up-to-date as more develops.
