#2. The Matchup: Chicago Bulls guard Stephen “JoJo” English versus New York Knicks guard Derek Harper

The Date: May 13, 1994

The Fight: During a 1994 Eastern Conference Semifinals playoff game at Chicago Stadium, English and Harper got into an altercation that spread from the court into the stands. NBA Commissioner David Stern, who was sitting in the front row at the game, was just feet from the players at one point during the fight.

The Aftermath: English was suspended for one game and Harper, who threw the first and only punch of the fight, was suspended for two.



#1. The Matchup: Detroit Pistons center Bill Laimbeer versus Philadelphia 76ers forward Charles Barkley (fast-forward to 1:55 in this clip to see their infamous fight)

The Date: April 20, 1990

The Fight: Though he fought other superstars like Larry Bird and Robert Parish during his storied career, Laimbeer is most well-known for trading punches with the Round Mound of Rebound during a first-round series against the Sixers in 1990.

The Aftermath: Both players were fined $20,000 for their roles in the brawl, the largest fines ever handed out by the NBA at the time.
