After getting signed to Chris Brown's record label CBE in 2012, Sevyn Streeter is taking on the music world as a solo artist.
Sevyn may look familiar - she was once a part of the short-lived girl groups TG4 and RichGirl. She also helped pen some of your favorite songs including Chris Brown's "Wet the Bed," "Strip," and tracks for Kelly Rowland and Alicia Keys. The singer/ songwriter chatted with the Breakfast Club about her video for her first single "I Like It," working with Breezy, and ignoring comparisons.
On Being in Girl Groups: "It was cool, it was great. It was a great experience for me. It was my first deal (TG4)."
Working with Chris Brown: "I just feel like at the end of the day I'm about music, my work, professionalism, and so is he. And we work really well together so it's been great."
"Brown Girl" Comparisons: "We're all brown skin girls, but we're all different in our own right."
Her single "I Like it" and Debut Album: "We don't have a release date yet, but we're still recording records. We have some really good records to choose from."
