R&B OGs Toni Braxton and Babyface swung by the Breakfast Club this morning (Feb. 6), to discuss their new joint album Love, Marriage & Divorce, and finding the inspiration to create the album.
“She needed something to sing about that made sense," Babyface said. "She was ready to quit, she was tired of the business of music so I had to figure out a way to get her to come and sing so she just enjoyed singing again. She had to sing about something that she knew about.”
The pair also spoke about shoddy record deals, such as the “Un-Break My Heart” singer’s contract early on in her career.
“I think all artists, no matter who you are whether you’re black or white, it doesn’t matter," Braxton explained. "When you first sign the deal, it’s never going to be the money because you haven’t sold any records yet. You have to prove yourself.”
Watch as the singing duo also discuss money matters and more above.
