Former Nets center Jayson Williams was just released from Rikers Island jail this morning, according to TMZ.
The arrest stems from a 2010 DUI incident, for which he served—and apparently completed—8 months of his 1 year sentence. When apprehended, Jayson's blood alcohol level was .24, which is 3 times the legal limit. Cops said he swerved across four lanes of traffic before striking a tree in NYC.
This isn't the first arrest for the troubled public figure. Williams served 18 months in Wrightstown, NJ for aggravated assault, as part of a plea deal he accepted in the 2002 shooting death of his limo driver.
