Who doesn’t love a good comic strip? From fantasy heroes like Black Panther to satirical smartasses like Huey from The Boondocks, a simple sketch can add color to the greyest of days. In the spirit of Comedy Week, we’re putting you on to a bubbling hip-hop series called The Breaks that we know you will love.

These single-frame comics, conceived and written by Jesse Hagen (@JHagen34) and illustrated by the incomparable Kenny Keil (@KennyKeil), tackle hip-hop culture from both a nostalgic and timely POV. Today’s strip finds brainiac Steven Hawking dissecting OutKast’s Aquemini album. Take a look above, and check for these on vibe.com twice monthly.
