People are going to be very hype about that. Now Frank Ocean's "Thinking About Forever" leaked first. How did you feel about that?
Him putting out his version of it out first opened up the door for me. It was the perfect opportunity for me. It was really really great. I was excited.
Is there a possibility of a Frank Ocean/BK collab?
Hopefully in the future. I would really love to. He's so busy right now, he's blowing up. Incredibly talented. He's doing his tour thing with Odd Future and hopefully releasing more material by the end of the year. I'm hoping if not this project than the next, maybe just for fun and also get some work done. It will be great.
Are there any particular producers and songwriters that you were amped to work?
Yes, there was Ne-Yo and The-Dream and Eric Bellinger who's an amazing up-and-coming writer. Redd Stylez another amazing writer, he's done some stuff with Trey [Songz]. He's really great. Harmony is one of my favorites who's on the up and up. And Oak & Pop, I did a record with them called "Shit Happens." It's incredible. If we had more popular producers, it would have cost me more money and [they] would have not taken the time to get to know me, just crank out some amazing hit records without getting to know who I am as a person.
Do you have any desire to act or do anyting outside of music?
I grew up as an only child and I was always doing voice. I definitely want to do cartoons and voice-overs.
Word? Where does that passion stem from?
As a kid, that's all I use to do—imitate accents. I wanted to be a Spice Girl. I know that's really corny, but I wanted to be a Spice Girl and I wanted to have that accent 'cause I always thought that Mel B was just the best when I was 11-years-old. I really wanted to talk like her. I definitely want to be apart of cartoons. I think that's the fun way to stay in touch with your less serious side.
Is there any cartoon out right now that you're all in love with?
I love Family Guy. I think Family Guy is really really great. That's probably the only one that I make a point to watch because the comic relief is unreal.
It's crazy how hilarious that show is.
I'm not a T.V. person, but Family Guy does it for me. To me, it's just perfect. It's the ultimate turnaround for a bad day.
