Budweiser Watered Down? Beer Rejects Lawsuit Claim

Beer consumers have stopped pouring up Budweiser and Michelob after accusing their parent company Anheuser-Busch for watering down its beers.

Two avid Bud drinkers Thomas and Gerald Greenberg of Philadelphia sued AB InBev, Budweiser's parent company for overcharging their watered-down beer.

The company is facing similar legal action in other states but rejects the suit.

"The claims against Anheuser-Busch are completely false and these lawsuits are groundless," the firm's vice president of brewing and supply Peter Kraemer said. "Our beers are in full compliance with all alcohol labeling laws.

He added, "We proudly adhere to the highest standards in brewing our beers, which have made them the best-selling in the United States and the world."

In addition to Budweiser, which is sold as having 5% alcohol by volume, the Greenbergs say the following AB InBev products are also watered down: Bud Ice, Bud Light Platinum, Michelob, King Cobra, Busch Ice, Black Crown, Bud Light Lime, Hurricane High Gravity Lager, Natural Ice, and Michelob Ultra

In a bid for damages exceeding $5 million and a court order that requires the company to change its ad campaign, the Greenbergs are seeking to represent all consumers who purchased the allegedly diluted products for personal use in the state of Pennsylvania.
