Bulletproof SUV Saved 50 Cent In Car Crash

For a man who's gotten rich and nearly died tryin' (nine shots later), rolling around in a bulletproof SUV seems appropriate. According to 50 Cent, that extra dose of security was what kept him from being a casualty in a nearly devastating car crash Tuesday night (June 26).

"We spun off into the rail. We would've flipped if it was a regular truck, but the truck weighs over a ton because it has additional stuff in it," Fif' told MTV News.

The vehicle owned by the G-Unit general was rear-ended by a Mack truck and nearly flipped over on the Long Island Expressway in New York. Though he looked every bit the rapper-mogul in his MTV interview Friday (June 29), Curtis Jackson said he and his driver were sent to the hospital. Photos posted on his 'This Is 50' blog showed the "Up!" MC on a stretcher.

"We were just riding down the LIE and a Mack Truck — he said he lost control of the vehicle later to police officers because his load shifted," 50 recalled. "He tried to brake, his load shifted, and he lost control and he ran into the back of the truck. It did more damage to the Mack Truck than it did to my truck, 'cause I got a level six; it's a bulletproof vehicle. It's the same standard as what they're moving Obama around in."

It's not the first time the Queens-bred spitter has landed himself in the hospital. After his burger-induced stomach attack a few months ago, many considered the recent accident a publicity stunt.

"Trust me, I have enough money to not hit myself with a Mack Truck to try to get a few dollars," he shot back. "What's the thought process on this? It makes no sense to me."
