It looks like Twitch has done it again. Find out what this means for gamers around the world after the break!
The world's leading video platform and community for gamers announced this morning their partnership with Activision and Treyarch to bring Call of Duty: Black Ops II into a new level of excitement.
"Making Call of Duty: Black Ops II not only fun to play, but also fun to watch was a key goal from the beginning of development," said Mark Lamia, studio head of Treyarch. "We pushed ourselves to build these features right into the game in order to make live streaming as accessible and as social as possible for everyone. One of the things that makes this so special is that there's no need for additional hardware or equipment, we want our fans to be able to share their experiences with the world."
Yes, you read that correctly, gamers... Twitch will be live streaming broadcaster to viewers worldwide. This move will now allow every gamer to become their own broadcaster and share their most memorable kills, heinous deaths and hilarious moments with the rest of the globe.
"It's going to blow the doors wide open for a new generation of console gamers to share their video game experiences," said Emmett Shear, CEO of Twitch. "There's no bigger gaming franchise on the console than Call of Duty, and we can't wait to see what the community can create with this new tool. In-game streaming is entering a whole new world."
Now, with using your existing Twitch account (or create one for free), you can immediately begin streaming your gameplay to millions around the Earth. To make finding you easier online, sharing is optimum by letting your Twitter and Facebook followers know that you're broadcasting live. Lastly, without needed expensive equipment, Twitch/Treyarch/Activision will enable one-click broadcasting via your Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC.
This plus that new Revolution Map Pack DLC and our guess is that 2013 will be the year of the Elite!
