It looks as if actress Carey Mulligan is taking her talents to the White House in an upcoming biopic about Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The 28-year-old actress, fresh from her role in The Great Gatsby, is reportedly in talks to play the coveted role of Mrs. Bill Clinton and is the front-runner. The list of actresses all vying for the role included Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Chastain, and Emma Stone.
Director James Ponsoldt and her are "eager for it to work," as Mulligan would portray young Hillary as "a young lawyer on the committee involved in President Richard Nixon's impeachment, and her juggling a diverging career path with her unresolved feelings for future president Bill Clinton."
It sounds like there is a lot of meat on the bone in this role, and if the two are able to hammer out a deal then it seems that Mulligan could find herself courting award nods. Young Il Kim penned the script which Richard Arlook, Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen will produce.
But do YOU think that Carey Mulligan has the chops to play Hillary Clinton in Rodham? Let us know below.
