Industrial artists and power couple Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti have been making music together under a handful of personas since 1981 – first as part of noise provocateurs Throbbing Gristle until Genesis P-Orridge left the group (again) in 2010; then as X-TG with Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson until he passed away that same year; intermittently as CTI, Chris & Cosey, Carter Tutti; and briefly as Carter Tutti Void (with Factory Floor’s Nik Colk Void).
While their output has influenced countless electronic subgenres from New Wave to Techno and beyond, C&C had not toured in the US for years until this past week when they played both a live X-TG remix of Desertshore/The Final Report at NYC’s MOMA/PS1, and a “Carter Tutti Plays Chris & Cosey” set in Chicago.
This Saturday, the dynamic duo brings their Carter Tutti gig to Santos, one of New York’s favorite party houses. To no one’s surprise, all the shows have sold out. To everyone’s delight, they have added a second surprise show on Sunday in Brooklyn. A tour CD, Carter Tutti Remix Chris & Cosey, will be available at both shows.
