Cee-Lo Green has been cleared of a sexual assault charge, although he will still be charged with providing ecstasy to the woman who claims that he assaulted her by slipping the drug into her drink unknowingly.
The two had apparently been seeing each other intimately for months when they went to a Sushi restaurant in downtown L.A. over a year ago. Later, the woman told police that Cee-Lo had put something in her drink, and the next thing she knew, she was naked in his bed.
Green denied all of the crimes from the jump, and now the sexual assault has been dropped, but still be faced with the felony drug charge. The official criminal complaint against him will not include any mention of the singer's intent to harm the woman when giving her the drugs, and most people with this first time felony charge get probation.
The singer has not commented on the matter since his most recent court date.
