Chris Brown's legal troubles are far from over.
Shortly after his release from jail earlier this month, the 25-year-old singer returned to court on Wednesday (June 25) for his Washington D.C. assault case. The Grammy-winning artist was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault last October for allegedly attacking a man outside of a D.C. hotel.
According to the Associated Press, Breezy rejected a plea deal at D.C.'s Superior Court. Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, claims the defense lawyers and prosecution couldn't come to terms on what truly occurred that night outside of the W Hotel in D.C.
"They wanted him to read from a script that wasn't true," Geragos said. "If they want a trial, that's what they'll get."
A trial for Brown has been set for September 8.
