After a court appearance on Tuesday (Sept. 2), Chris Brown plead guilty to a misdemeanor assault for an October 2013 altercation outside of the W hotel in Washington, D.C., AP reports.

The “Loyal” singer was sentenced to time served and spent two days in jail in the nation’s capital. Reports state that before the 24-year-old R&B singer left the courthouse he said, “I would like to say to the court that I’m sorry.”

Breezy’s lawyer also said this case has consumed CB’s career for almost a year, so now he’s focused on his forthcoming album X, set to drop September 16, and a possible tour.
