Chris Brown Skates In Cell Phone Taking Incident

Chris Brown has dodged a legal bullet.

According to TMZ, the controversial R&B star will not be prosecuted for allegedly taking a cell phone from a female partygoer in front of a Miami nightclub in February.

A police report filed against the singer claimed that he grabbed an iPhone from a woman outside Cameo nightclub. The report also charged Brown with “robbery of sudden snatching.” It was also reported that Brown told the woman, “Bitch, you ain’t going to put that on no website.”

But a Miami-Dade State Attorney has told TMZ that after reviewing the evidence and statements from witnesses, “We are not taking any type of criminal action regarding the incident.”

“We have forwarded our findings to Los Angeles for the probation case review after conducting the same process that every criminal case in Miami-Dade County undergoes,” the legal official continued.

One of the witnesses interviewed in the Brown case was Young Money rapper Tyga—whose head of security Devon Blanche found himself with the phone in hand following the scrape. “Brown may have taken [the phone] because Brown is known to be especially concerned that if photographs of himself with two females got out, it might cause him problems with Rihanna,” said Blanche, who was also a witness.

The problem, of course, was Brown was still dating former flame Karrueche Tran. According to his ex girlfriend, the same woman who claimed Brown snatched her cell phone allegedly placed a phone in the dancing dynamo’s car to take a picture of the platinum performer. Tran added that the woman’s phone fell inside Brown’s car and was instantly tossed out of the window.

In the end, prosecutors said that it was highly possible that Brown “[removed] from the vehicle an object which didn’t belong there.”

If Brown were to be prosecuted, the incident would have opened the floodgates for a violation for the singer who is still under probation for physically assaulting pop star Rihanna in 2009. The pair, who has lately been seen together publicly, has reportedly rekindled their love affair.
