After a breakthrough performance during the 2012-13 regular season and the NBA Playoffs, New York Knicks forward Chris Copeland signed an "offer sheet" agreement with the Indiana Pacers (July 5).
The $6.1 million, two-year deal came as anticipated news behind Dwight Howard’s decision to head to the Houston Rockets, sending the 28-year-old to an organization that knocked out his former orange and blue teammates last playoff season.
"Indiana got to the Eastern Conference finals and Chris feels like he can be the piece to get them over the hump," Copeland's agent, John Spencer, said. "Chris wanted to be in New York. It took a lot of convincing that it was a good situation."
