Don’t ask Chris Rock about politics. According to TMZ, Chris wasn’t too happy in January after being questioned about a Tea Party statement he made in Esquire, so he decided to take out his frustration on a nearby cameraman.
Here’s the quote that started the controversy:
“When I see the Tea Party and all this stuff, it actually feels like racism’s almost over. Because this is the last — this is the act up before the sleep. They’re going crazy. They’re insane.”
Chris tried to walk away from the situation when conservative writer Jason Mattera asked him about the comment, but there wasn’t far for the comedian to go.
That’s when Rock stopped, turned around and threw himself toward the cameraman. The incident occurred at the Sundance Film Festival and footage is just now surfacing.
An attorney is currently looking into the incident. – Stephanie Long
