Love it or not, NBC's The Michael J. Fox Show is going into a meta place in an episode set to air next spring.
Star Michael J. Fox is going back... to the future on an upcoming episode of his NBC sitcom. Christopher Lloyd, who played Dr. Emmett Brown opposite Fox's Marty McFly in Back to the Future and its two sequels, will guest-star in the episode according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lloyd will appear as the principal of the high school where Annie Henry (played by Breaking Bad's Betsy Brandt), the wife of Fox's character Mike Henry, is employed. The Michael J. Fox Show marks the full-time return to television for the actor, who left back in 2001 during his run on Spin City as symptoms of his Parkinson's disease worsened.
Once Spin City ended, Fox, who got his start on Family Ties before hitting the big screen, appeared in occasional guest roles on shows such as Louie C.K., Curb Your Enthusiasm and Scrubs.
